A while back I followed a link for a singer-songwriter and found that I enjoyed their music. I bought some CDs and went to a gig in London in 2022. I was pleased to see that they were touring again this year and that their first port of call would be in Brighton, at the Folklore Rooms in The Quadrant. It was a good evening and was enjoyed by a small and enthusiastic crowd.
First up was Alizée LeRiche, a four piece led by a talented singer-songwriter. A couple of songs threw in literary references – Steppenwolf and Pygmalion.
I’d only seen Melanie Baker perform as a solo artist so I was intrigued to see what they would be like with a full band supporting them. The performance didn’t disappoint.
