Darkness Over Cumbria – Summer Edition, Friday

This was originally going to be the last Darkness Over Cumbria but the autumn edition came back into the Wulfhere fold so it became the penultimate one. As ever, the setting of Fell Foot Wood, provided by host Barry of the Blackwood, was a superb venue to experience Black Metal in. Compere for the weekend was the effervescent JJ Flames.

First off for the weekend were Decrepit Monolith, who played a straightforward set to ease people into the weekend.

Next up were a reconstituted Insurgency, also playing a set of straightforward Black Metal with gusto.

Following them were Nefarious Dusk, with JJ announcing them before blasting out the bass lines. In on drums was Striga Hell.

Sidious played an aggressive set, getting the audience going.

Carrying on with the vibe were The Infernal Sea, with different masks and new songs.

Finishing off the evening were venerable veterans, Hecate Enthroned, who enthralled the audience before Barry led people off to the Moon Pond. Aeon managed to keep out of it this year.
