Sunday dawned and I headed back into London. There was a talk, followed by bands playing in The Underworld, the Electric Ballroom and the Black Heart.
I went first to the Black Heart to listen to three speakers discuss Black Metal, dubbed the Astral Pit, hosted by Jonathan Selzer. The first of these was Dayal Patterson of Cult Never Dies, author of the authoritative book on Black Metal – Black Metal: the Evolution of the Cult; the second was Dis Pater from Midnight Odyssey, fresh from playing their first gig the day before; and Necroshorns, a fellow tog who has taken some excellent pictures of Black Metal artists. Their take on things was interesting and kept the audience entertained as well as informed.
From the Black Heart I went across to The Underworld to catch Blood Countess. They put on a great show, exciting those music fans who had arrived early enough to catch them.
After this, I went to the Electric Ballroom to catch the bands there. First on was Anomalie, from Austria.
Second on were Ved Buens Ende, who had come out of retirement recently.
Following them were Cult of Fire with a spectacular stage set.
Next on were Keep of Kalessin with a great set.
The evening was rounded off by Borknagar.
